Short Story

I was running, running for my life. Their shouts walked into my ear. "Thief! Stop there! Stand here like real men!" I really wanted to, I really did. My lungs were screaming in protest, my heart racing to the finish line. I felt the warm, crusty, floury custard brushing again my chest, as if screaming like I wanted to. But my legs felt like the tiniest, most fragile animal with even less energy. They too, were yelping in pain. Soon enough, when I was a inch from fainting, I collapsed as my feet failed me and I fell into nothingness, darkness. I dropped down, down, down into the place where nobody will find me, look for me, and see me; I was invisible to other eyes.

Well, my life is always like this. I'm the runner, not the chaser, and that was the first I had to teach myself. My life's routine goes like this: STEAL, and STEAL more, and repeating on. Though life like this may sound simple, it's a bit different then what you think, not to mention all the horrid punishment that I could get myself in. Hmmmmm, come to think of it that way, isn't that just pleasant?
I know what you're going to say now; and I'll anwser that right now. No, I do not have a name, nor a home, a family, or money. I have one friend that always sticks with me till the end. Okay, now you're
